Volunteers are needed to lead walks in the Newtownards and North Down areas (Brain Injury and Visually Impaired groups).
Duties include:
- Joining the Walk Leader and the group on various walks around Newtownards and surrounding areas;
- Assisting the Walk Leader in supporting the group activity;
- Having tea/coffee/scones in a cafe near the walk location;
- Engaging in social interaction with the walkers and helping to keep them safe;

Volunteer Driver with Assisted Discharge from Ulster Hospital

Duties include:
- Visiting the service user in hospital with a view to supporting their discharge
- Transporting the service user home from hospital.
- The patient will be independently mobile, no lifting or carrying is required.
- During discharge transport, shopping can be collected on way home.
- Visiting the service user on their arrival home from hospital and settling them in.
- Support discharge through delivery of medication. (Volunteers will not deliver controlled medication.)
- Keeping paper records of contact and activities undertaken with the service user.
- Inform Red Cross staff of any individual who requires additional support post discharge.
